Preparing to Enter the Feast Days
We’ve just entered our Bantu New Year. Our uSomandla has met us at the starting line and is prepping us to continue the marathon He set us on — so as we celebrate, we also prepare: for Passover, the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and the Feast of Weeks.

A holy convocation — not optional gathering.
Notice what is actually being asked of us. Not just to remember the fourteenth day, or to eat unleavened bread for seven days because it’s tradition. Verse after verse, uSomandla calls it a holy convocation. That’s a command to show up, set apart, on the day He named.
These are the feasts of uSoNINI NaNINI, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

No servile work — a statute for ever.
Not “rest if you can fit it in.” A statute for ever, in all your dwellings, throughout your generations. That isn’t a suggestion for the diligent among us; it’s a requirement laid on every one of His people, in every generation, wherever we live. So it’s required of us to actually set the day apart — not just acknowledge it’s coming, but clear space for it, the way He cleared the calendar of our ancestors for it.
And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.

Put away the leaven.
It’s required of us to put away what doesn’t belong in that house — not leave it sitting in the corner because it’s inconvenient to deal with. Leaven is representative of sin. We don’t necessarily have to physically rid our homes of every bread or food item with leaven in it, but we should keep the discipline of not eating such during the feast, in honor of our dedication to uSoNINI NaNINI.
Seven days shall ye eat unleavened bread; even the first day ye shall put away leaven out of your houses: for whosoever eateth leavened bread from the first day until the seventh day, that soul shall be cut off from Akobi.
Exodus 12:15 KJV, as we read itEvery feast day on the calendar is His doing, not ours. We didn’t earn the invitation. He extended it.
Closing
All of this points back to one thing — uSomandla. Who He is, what He’s already done, and what He’s still bringing us into. So let’s not carry these days like something heavy to get through. Let’s carry them like what they are — a high time with our Father. A chance to gather, to set ourselves apart, to draw near to Him with joy. Prepare, family — and prepare with gladness. These feast days are coming, and uSomandla isn’t calling us into them to test us. He’s calling us in to meet with us. Let’s go in ready, and let’s go in glad.

May uSoNINI NaNINI increase you and keep you. May He make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
