Great Is Thy Faithfulness

When things get hard, when we don’t know what’s next — even when life is going well — we’ve all said it: just keep the faith. Keep believing the Most High will make a way. And that’s true. But we usually focus only on the part where He intervenes and provides. What does our faith in uSoNINI NaNINI require of us? Three things.

   Our trust in His plan.

   Faith is living as if what uSoNINI NaNINI has promised has already been made tangible — even before you can see it. It is knowing, without a shadow of doubt, that His word, His will, and His promises will always come to fruition, no matter the opposition or the logic. If uSoNINI NaNINI says it, it will show itself. He is not bound by the laws of our dimension; He sits far outside it. He knows all, sees all, and does all long before any event plays out here. If He is in control of that much, how much more comforted we should be that He is able to do what He says.

   Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

   Our obedience to His Word.

   Faith in the Most High does not supersede obedience to the Most High. They are cause and effect: our obedience leads to an increase in our faith, and when we are faithful to Him, He is even more faithful to us. When we keep His laws and commandments in joy, not begrudgingly, He provides increase and favor beyond anything we can ask or think. And obedience does not require perfection or understanding every outcome. It requires that we listen, trust, and respond — even in the small and unseen moments. Faithfulness is revealed first in what seems least: how we obey when no one is watching, how we honor Him in everyday choices.

   He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.

   Faith and obedience are a direct cause and effect.

   Our works in alignment with His will.

   Faith doesn’t end with belief or obedience alone. It must be expressed through works aligned with His will — and Scripture names them. The work of obedience: be ye doers of the word. The work of trust: Abraham went out, not knowing whither he went. The work of love: faith which worketh by love. And acts of service and free-will giving: I was hungry, and ye gave me meat; a stranger, and ye took me in. Faith is meant to be lived, expressed, and exercised daily. These are the moments where faith moves from confession to action, and where alignment with His will becomes visible.

   Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
